UNA participates in the first international forum to promote integrity in the tourism sector in the Maldives.

Male (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) participated in the first international forum to promote integrity in the tourism sector, organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), in Male, Maldives, in partnership with the Republic of Maldives and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The forum was attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Maldives, Hussain Mohamed Latheef, and high-level participation from member states and international organizations specializing in combating corruption.

The Director General of the Union, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdrabuh Al-Yami, emphasized that UNA's participation in the forum's activities comes in support of efforts to enhance transparency and governance in vital sectors, including the tourism sector. He pointed to the role of the Union and its keenness to be a partner in highlighting successful experiences and exchanging them through the media among the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, contributing to achieving best practices and confronting the challenges of corruption, and developing a comprehensive vision to overcome these challenges, in addition to enhancing integrity in the tourism sector as one of the outcomes of this forum.
