Doha (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries participated in the 26th session of the Conference of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, currently being held in the Qatari capital, Doha, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of a group of scholars and specialized experts from across the Islamic world.
The Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States, Mr. Mohammed Abdrabuh Al-Yami, attributed the participation of UNA in this conference, the largest session in the history of the Academy in terms of the number of scientific papers submitted, to the importance of the global event, which aims to enhance the role of Islamic jurisprudence and thought by holding a number of different scientific sessions to discuss a range of contemporary jurisprudential, intellectual, medical, social and economic issues of interest to the OIC member states and Muslim communities around the world.
The conference, which began last Sunday, May 4, will conclude tomorrow, Thursday, May 8. The Islamic Fiqh Academy Council will issue decisions and recommendations that will help guide decision-makers, leaders, and thinkers, and enhance the role of collective institutional ijtihad in addressing contemporary issues.
It is worth noting that "Yona" has allocated large spaces to cover the conference activities on a daily basis by preparing written and illustrated news and reports.
