The Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns the Israeli occupation's continued killing and targeting of journalists.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the Israeli occupation’s continued killing and targeting of Palestinian journalists.

The Union strongly condemned the killing of Palestinian journalist Helmi al-Faqawi by the occupation forces, and the severe burns inflicted on journalist Ahmed Mansour, a correspondent for the Palestine Today News Agency, during an Israeli airstrike targeting a tent housing journalists at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Union also condemned the resulting attacks, which violate all international conventions and norms, resulting in various injuries, some of them serious, to Palestinian journalists: Hassan Islayh, Ahmed Agha, Mohammed Fayeq, Abdullah Al-Attar, Ihab Al-Bardini, Mahmoud Awad, Majed Qudaih, and Ali Islayh.

The Union emphasized that, through these deliberate attacks on journalists, Israel is attempting to cover up its crimes and deter media professionals from fulfilling their professional duty of conveying the truth to the world and conveying the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip after months of ongoing Israeli aggression.

The Union commended the courage of Palestinian journalists and their adherence to their media message and professional duty in the face of the occupation and its brutal military apparatus, praying to God to bestow His mercy upon their martyrs and grant a speedy recovery to the injured.
