“UNA” commends the outcomes of the World Conference of the Muslim World League (MWL) Initiative for Girls' Education in Muslim Societies

Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) commended the outcomes of the the World Conference of the Muslim World League (MWL) Initiative for Girls' Education in Muslim Societies., which concluded its sessions on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. The event was attended by high-level ministers, scholars, officials, and diplomats, with wide participation from regional and international organizations.

The Director-General of the Union, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, commended the "Islamabad Declaration for the Education of Girls" issued by the conference, which received historic endorsement from prominent scholars of the Ummah, Islamic jurisprudential bodies, representatives of international organizations, government and non-government academic institutions, and global activists.

Al-Yami also highlighted the launch of the platform for international partnerships, "the executive arm of the initiative," at the conference, which saw the signing of over XNUMX global agreements and commitments by distinguished scholars, heads of Islamic councils and assemblies, United Nations organizations, and leaders of international, research, academic, governmental, and non-governmental organizations.

Al-Yami emphasized that the conference comes as a confirmation of the roles played by the League, under the leadership of its esteemed Secretary-General, His Excellency Sheikh Dr.Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, in serving the issues of the Islamic world, enhancing the global image of Islam, highlighting the correct legal stance regarding the rights of girls to education, and empowering them to exercise this right without any restrictive conditions or obstacles

Al-Yami confirmed the Union's commitment to contributing to this important initiative supporting the education of girls in the Islamic world, and to promoting it through media efforts that will help convey its goals and achieve its noble objectives.

The Union participated in the conference “Girls Education in Muslim Societies”, represented by its Director-General.

During the conference, the Union also signed a number of memoranda of cooperation aimed at supporting the cause of girls' education through media efforts and providing professional and knowledge-based training for girls. This includes a memorandum of cooperation with the MWL and a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Management and Technology in Pakistan.
