Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation signs a memorandum of cooperation with the COMSTECH Committee

Islamabad (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Friday (January 10, 2025).

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Federation by the Director General, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbah Al-Yami, while it was signed on behalf of the COMSTECH Committee by the General Coordinator, Dr. Mohammed Iqbal Chowdhury.

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two bodies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the field of education, and to strengthen the role of the media in raising scientific and technological awareness, introducing developments in this area, and promoting scholarships and educational and research opportunities provided by the Committee for the benefit of students and researchers in the Islamic world.

The memorandum also aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in the field of training and raising the capabilities of workers in the field of communication and information in the member states.

The signing of the memorandum came within the framework of the Director-General’s visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to participate in the work of the international conference “Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies: Challenges and Opportunities” held in Islamabad during the period 10-12 January 2025 with broad international participation.
