"Yona" congratulates the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host the 2034 World Cup

Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) extended its warmest congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his loyal Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister, the government and the Saudi people on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia winning the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

On this occasion, the Director General of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami, said that the Kingdom’s winning of hosting the largest sporting event confirms the great success achieved by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing the sports sector in the Kingdom and raising the quality of life for citizens and residents.

Al-Yami expressed his confidence that this exceptional edition of the World Cup, which will be held with the participation of 48 teams from all continents of the world, will be successful and distinctive by all standards, given the Kingdom’s great experience and distinction in hosting prominent global events and activities, and the unparalleled support and facilities provided by its wise leadership to raise the Kingdom’s name high in all forums.

Al-Yami stressed that the Kingdom’s hosting of this prominent international event represents a new achievement for Islamic countries within the framework of their openness to the world and the introduction of their various achievements and their ancient cultural and civilizational heritage, which would strengthen the bonds of familiarity and rapprochement between peoples.
