Director General of “Yona” visits the Malaysian National News Agency

Jeddah (UNA) - Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) Mohammed bin Abdrabuh Al-Yami visited the headquarters of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (December 10, 2024), where he was received by the agency's CEO Noor Alfida Kamaluddin.

During the visit, aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides were discussed, which would contribute to serving the media objectives of the Kingdom of Malaysia and highlighting its capabilities and tourist attractions.

Al-Yami briefed the CEO of Bernama on some of the union’s activities, programmes, initiatives and strategic vision for promoting media work in Islamic countries and highlighting their achievements in various fields.

Al-Yami expressed his appreciation for the support that the Union receives from Malaysia, within the framework of its historical keenness to support joint Islamic action institutions and enable them to carry out the tasks assigned to them.

For her part, Bernama Agency CEO Noor Alfida Kamaluddin praised the roles played by the Union in enhancing the joint media movement of the OIC member states.

It is worth noting that the meeting comes within the framework of the Director General of the Union’s visit to Malaysia to participate in the work of the meeting of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group, held in Kuala Lumpur during the period December 10-12, with broad and high-level international participation.
