Jeddah (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) participated in the eighth session of the annual coordination meeting of the institutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held at the headquarters of the organization on December 4-5, 2024.
The Coordination Meeting is an important platform for the Organization’s institutions to address the joint implementation of the decisions of the Summit, the Council of Foreign Ministers and other ministerial meetings.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Union held a number of consultations with the organization’s agencies, which would contribute to enhancing coordination and joint action with these agencies in the service of Islamic issues.
During the meeting, the Union also signed two memoranda of understanding, the first with the Department of Media Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the second with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC).
It is noteworthy that at the conclusion of the eighth session of the annual coordination meeting, a matrix of agreed-upon procedures was adopted, which the OIC institutions will implement during the year 2025.
