Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) will hold a workshop tomorrow, Monday, November 11, 2024, entitled “The Pros and Cons of Artificial Intelligence in Creating News Content.”
The workshop aims to learn about artificial intelligence techniques in journalism and explore the positives.
The role of artificial intelligence in improving the efficiency of journalism and saving time versus challenges and risks, in addition to identifying practical skills on how to integrate artificial intelligence in a responsible and effective manner in producing high-quality news content, and discussing the future of journalism on how future artificial intelligence developments will affect and strategies for adapting to these changes.
The Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Abdrabuh Al-Yami, explained that this course is an extension of a number of joint programs between “UNA” and “Sputnik” to present media concepts and applications related to artificial intelligence to journalistic practitioners, and to discuss policies and issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in media work in its various forms.
UNA, in cooperation with Sputnik, has previously organized three training workshops during the current year 2024, including a workshop held in
Kazan, Tatarstan, titled “New Tools for Newsrooms: Exploring the Benefits and Challenges of AI Technologies”, in cooperation with Sputnik and the Tatarstan News Agency, on May 16, preceded by a virtual training course on April 22 titled “How AI Changed Video Production”, and another on July 8 titled “Managing Visual Content Through AI”.
