The Union of Islamic Cooperation News Agencies condemns the Israeli occupation’s targeting of journalists in Palestine

Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ deliberate targeting of workers in the press and media sector and their families in the occupied Palestinian territory, the most recent of which was the assassination of photojournalist Samer Abu Daqqa and the injury of correspondent Wael Al Dahdouh from the Al Jazeera Media Network. .

The Union called for an investigation into all crimes committed by Israel, the occupying power, against civilians, including media professionals and journalists who are subjected to deliberate killing, arrest, and beatings due to their journalistic work.

The Union held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the martyrdom of more than 80 journalists, as well as the arrest of more than 45 other journalists since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli military aggression in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Union confirmed that these attacks come within the framework of the Israeli occupation’s attempt to cover up its crimes and prevent journalists from carrying out their professional duties.
