Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) appreciated the decision issued by the extraordinary joint Arab Islamic Summit, which was held yesterday, Saturday (November 11, 2023) in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The Union praised the unified Islamic and Arab position contained in this resolution towards the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the necessity of stopping it, and rejected describing it as self-defense or justifying it under any pretext.
The Union also praised the resolution’s emphasis on the necessity of breaking the siege on Gaza and imposing the entry of Arab, Islamic and international humanitarian aid convoys.
The Union noted the decision’s call on the secretariats of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to establish two media monitoring units to document all the crimes of the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people and digital media platforms that publish them and expose their illegal and inhuman practices, noting that this call comes as an affirmation of the importance of the media in the context of current events and its role in affirming the Palestinian right. And stripping the Israeli occupation of legitimacy before the global public.
