The Union of Islamic Cooperation News Agencies condemns the tearing up of a copy of the Holy Qur’an in The Hague

Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) condemned extremists tearing up a copy of the Holy Qur’an in The Hague, Netherlands.

The Union condemned all actions and actions aimed at undermining the sanctity of the Noble Qur’an and insulting religious symbols and sanctities, stressing that these actions constitute a violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, encourage the spread of hatred and intolerance, and undermine efforts made to promote tolerance between different cultures and religions.

The Union called on the Dutch authorities to take the necessary measures against these provocative acts, and to work to prevent their recurrence, which would block the way for extremists who seek to stir up strife and discord among peoples.
