UNA will organize next Thursday a media forum on the role of news agencies in supporting the Palestinian cause

Jeddah (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) will organize next Thursday (September 29, 2022) a media forum on the role of news agencies in supporting the Palestinian cause: challenges and opportunities. During the forum, which will be held virtually, the General Supervisor of Official Media in the State of Palestine, His Excellency Minister Ahmed Assaf, will review Palestine's aspirations at the media level, and the roles assigned to news agencies in the OIC member states in this regard. Acting Director General of the Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Muhammad bin Abed Rabbo Al-Yami, explained that the organization of this forum is an extension of the decisions of the General Assembly of the Union, and the Islamic conferences of information ministers, which stressed continuing to educate the public about the issue of Palestine by providing maximum media coverage for all aspects of life in the world. He pointed out that the forum will discuss challenges and opportunities in the work of member news agencies to advocate for the Palestinian cause, strengthen Palestine's position on the media level, and identify its aspirations with regard to media work and its needs in this aspect. Al-Yami pointed out that the forum aims to come up with an initial vision of joint media work in the field of supporting Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and to exchange the best experiences of member agencies in this regard, in addition to strengthening communication between Palestinian media institutions and their counterparts in the OIC countries.
