A fatwa permitting the burning and recycling of damaged papers from copies of the Qur’an

Cairo (INA) - Many Muslims do not know how to deal with unreadable copies of the Qur'an, and how to destroy them because they contain the sacred text. And recently, the Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa issued a fatwa stating that if the Qur’an is fit for reading, then it is not permissible to destroy it. To protect her from being unintentionally insulted. The fatwa required dealing with the papers of the Qur’an with respect, tearing them well, and erasing the sacred words in them. After that, there is nothing wrong with dealing with the output as an industrial raw material for new paper industries. (End) Ayman Muhammad
