Occupied Jerusalem (INA) - Unusually, the Palestinians will not celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year, with the blood of the martyrs and wounded of Gaza, their destroyed homes and their displacement from them, and the terror in the eyes of their children everywhere. 1064 martyrs and more than 6 thousand wounded are the victims of the brutal Israeli aggression that has been going on for three weeks, and more than 150 thousand Palestinians have been displaced from their homes under the weight of air, land and sea bombardment, in addition to the destruction of thousands of homes. The barbaric bombing did not spare the young or the old, for every Palestinian is a target for the occupation.. 53 families were completely exterminated inside their homes, their bodies were torn apart by shells, the weight of which exceeded a ton at times, and their body parts were scattered everywhere. Tens of thousands were driven out of their homes and wandered on their faces in the streets, with shelling chasing them everywhere. Some of them took refuge with a relative or friend, and some of them took refuge in schools. In each classroom, the area of which does not exceed 20 square meters, 3 families live in inhumane conditions, in light of the lack of water and food. How can these people celebrate Eid, when there is no home without many tragedies? They will suffice with the Eid prayer, and then they will disperse to the shrines of loved ones, friends, and loved ones among the martyrs who died in the Israeli aggression. In the other part of the Palestinian homeland, the West Bank, which also presented the martyrs and the wounded in demonstrations against the aggression, there are no manifestations of Eid, there is no smell of cake and no movement in the markets to buy Eid clothes, with the exception of T-shirts bearing slogans of solidarity with Gaza, which have witnessed unprecedented popularity. Instead of congratulating on the holiday, other expressions spread on social media, such as a martyr's holiday instead of a happy holiday, and any holiday and every day is a martyr, and every year, Gaza and the resistance are a thousand good, and we celebrated the day of our victory. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on the Palestinian people in the homeland and in the diaspora, with all their forces and institutions, to confine the manifestations of Eid Al-Fitr to religious rituals, in light of the difficult circumstances that the Palestinian people are experiencing as a result of the continuous Israeli aggression against them. Abbas hoped that Eid al-Fitr would be an occasion for cooperation, solidarity, and the strengthening of the deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood among the people of one people. . Most Palestinians will not offer chocolates, sweets, or fruits to those well-wishers, and will content themselves with offering a cup of plain coffee and a piece of dates. There is no feast in Palestine and Gaza without a feast. (End) Khaled Al-Khalidi
