National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN)

The National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) is the training arm of the Public Service Administration in Malaysia, established in September 1959 as a staff training centre in Port Dickson. The institute is dedicated to developing the competencies and skills of public sector employees through the provision of specialised training programmes. The courses and programmes available at INTAN are: 1. Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (DPA): A 10-month programme, which is a prerequisite for appointment in the administrative and diplomatic corps. 2. Advanced Leadership and Management Programmes: These include programmes such as the Advanced Leadership and Management Programme (ALMP) and the Advanced Leadership Assessment and Development Programme (ALEAP), which aim to enhance the leadership skills of senior officials. 3. Leadership Assessment Programmes: Such as the Middle Management Leadership Assessment Programme (MLEAP) and the Executive Leadership Assessment Programme (ELEAP), which aim to develop the leadership capabilities of employees at the middle and executive levels. 4. Professional Certification Programmes: These include certificates in areas such as Integrated Public Project Management (3PAB) and Public Procurement Certificate (SPPK), which aim to equip participants with specialised knowledge and skills. 5. E-Learning Programmes: INTAN provides online learning platforms such as the E-Learning System for the Public Sector (EPSA) to facilitate access to educational resources.
