Barcelona (UNA) – Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chowdhury, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, attended the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, where he met global technology leaders and explored the latest developments in the telecom industry.
During his visit to the Huawei booth, Prof. Dr. Chowdhury commended Huawei’s pioneering contributions to 5G-A smart network solutions and its role in promoting global cooperation. “On behalf of COMSTECH, I am honored to recognize Huawei’s outstanding contributions at MWC 2025. Huawei has set new industry standards with its pioneering innovations in XNUMXG technology and commitment to promoting global cooperation. Its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusiveness aligns deeply with our mission to promote scientific and technological cooperation among OIC member states. MWC 2025 featured the launch of 5G-A smart network solutions and the display of 83 global models across 71 major industry scenarios.
As an extension of the recent cybersecurity event organized by COMSTECH in partnership with Huawei, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Huawei. The partnership aims to strengthen the overall cybersecurity framework, develop technological capabilities, and drive innovation in the telecom sector.
In addition, COMSTECH and Huawei work closely on several collaborative programs, including capacity building initiatives, digital transformation projects, and research partnerships to enhance technological expertise in OIC member states. These efforts underscore the commitment of both parties to enhance scientific cooperation, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry’s participation in the Mobile World Congress 2025 reflects COMSTECH’s commitment to supporting scientific and technological advancement in the Islamic world, and enhancing international cooperation in emerging technologies.
