
Ankara (UNA/Anadolu) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his hope that the “Peace Council” would contribute to achieving lasting stability, a ceasefire, and the desired peace in the Gaza Strip.
This came in statements he made to journalists on board the plane as he returned from Ethiopia, which he visited on Tuesday.
Erdogan said: “I hope that the Gaza Peace Council will contribute to achieving lasting stability, a ceasefire and the desired peace in the sector.”
He added: “For me, the Gaza issue is a test of consciences.”
He revealed that Türkiye had received an invitation to attend the “Peace Council” meeting scheduled to be held in Washington on Thursday.
He explained that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan would represent Türkiye at the meeting.
