
Ramallah (UNA/WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces stormed the campus of Birzeit University, north of Ramallah, at dawn on Tuesday, from three entrances, and detained a number of its guards.
Local sources reported that a large force of the occupation army stormed the university at four in the morning, detained five members of the university's security staff, and confiscated their mobile phones.
The sources added that the occupation forces closed the three main gates of the university, amid a heavy deployment of their soldiers in a number of buildings and colleges on campus.
The university announced the postponement of academic and administrative work until 9:00 AM, in order to ensure the safety of students and employees.
In the same context, the occupation forces arrested six young men during their raid on the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah.
Security sources reported that the detainees are: Muhammad Diaa, Majd Diaa, Samer Al-Masri, Saleh Washah, and the brothers Ayser Kanaan and Ayham Kanaan, following a large-scale raid that targeted citizens’ homes and included the destruction of their contents.
