Kuwait (KUNA) - The 16th relief plane took off on Sunday from the second Kuwaiti airlift as part of the humanitarian campaign "Kuwait by Your Side" to aid the Palestinian brothers in Gaza, heading to El-Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, carrying ten tons of food aid to be delivered to the Strip.
The relief aircraft departing from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base are part of the "Fazza for Gaza" campaign, organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in cooperation with Kuwaiti charitable organizations and in coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, represented by the Kuwaiti Air Force.
Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Khaled Al-Mughamis told KUNA before takeoff that the State of Kuwait continues its humanitarian and charitable efforts towards the Gaza Strip, based on its steadfast approach to supporting humanitarian and relief issues around the world and in compliance with the directives of the wise leadership, which emphasizes the need to stand by the Palestinian people in light of the difficult circumstances they are going through.
Al-Mughamis added that the Red Crescent, in cooperation with official bodies and the Kuwaiti charitable sector, is intensifying efforts to deliver urgent relief aid, including essential food items, via the second airlift organized by the association. He stressed that this ongoing support embodies the depth of the fraternal ties that unite the Kuwaiti and Palestinian peoples.
He explained that the association is working in coordination with Kuwaiti charitable organizations and foundations to ensure that aid reaches those who deserve it, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. He noted that it has formed a team to inspect Kuwaiti aid on the ground and monitor the latest developments in preparation for its delivery to the people of the Gaza Strip.
It's worth noting that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) today undertook the preparation of humanitarian aid provided by the Khairat Relief and Development Association, with the aim of meeting the basic food needs of the sector. The Society also worked to prepare previous aircraft, distributed to date between four aircraft to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and 12 aircraft to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Thus, the number of tons of Kuwaiti aid sent by the second Kuwaiti airlift to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip to date has reached 310 tons of food supplies produced inside the country in coordination with the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company.
