Ramallah (UNA/WAFA) – The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission announced on Sunday that it had monitored a total of 38359 attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation army and settlers against citizens and property since October 7, 2023.
The number of attacks carried out by the occupation army reached 31205, while settlers launched 7154 attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of 33 citizens, 14 of them in the Nablus Governorate, 12 in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, 3 in the Hebron Governorate, and one martyr each in Bethlehem, Qalqilya, and Salfit.
During the same period, the settlers established 114 new colonial outposts, an unprecedented number, which resulted in the displacement of 33 Palestinian Bedouin communities, consisting of 455 families and including 2853 individuals, from their places of residence to other places.
The colonial outposts were concentrated in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorates, with 30 outposts, 25 in Hebron, 18 in Nablus, and 14 new outposts in Bethlehem.
The occupying state seized 55 dunums of Palestinian land, including 20 dunums under the pretext of modifying the boundaries of nature reserves, and 26 dunums through 14 declarations of state land in the governorates of Jerusalem, Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Qalqilya. It confiscated a total of 1756 dunums through 108 seizure orders for military purposes aimed at establishing military towers, security roads, and buffer zones around settlements. This is in addition to a campaign to fragment Palestinian land by expanding bypass roads and establishing roads exclusively for settlers, in order to complete the methodology of connecting the colonial blocs and separating the Palestinian presence.
The occupation began establishing buffer zones around the settlements through a series of military orders, amounting to 25 zones around the settlements, most of which are concentrated in the northern West Bank, specifically the governorates of Nablus with 5 buffer zones, Salfit with 4 buffer zones, Qalqilya with 2 zones, Tulkarm and Tubas with one zone each, while 5 buffer zones were imposed in the Ramallah governorate, 5 others in Bethlehem, and the last one in Hebron.
The occupying state's planning authorities examined a total of 355 master plans for the construction of a total of 37415 colonial units, covering an area of 38551 dunams. Of these, 18801 units were approved, while 18614 new colonial units were deposited.
These plans were concentrated in the Jerusalem Governorate with 148 master plans (44 plans outside the borders of the occupation municipality and 104 in settlements within the municipal borders), followed by the Bethlehem Governorate with 51 master plans, Salfit with 48 plans, Ramallah with 38 plans, Qalqilya with 20, Nablus with 19 master plans, and others.
The occupying state decided to separate 13 colonial neighborhoods and consider them neighborhoods. It also decided to establish 22 new settlements. It also decided to regularize the status of 11 outposts through government decisions, adding them to a list of 68 agricultural outposts that have been equipped with the necessary infrastructure to establish them on citizens' land.
The occupation army and settlers set 767 fires on citizens' property and fields, including 221 fires on property and 546 fires on fields and agricultural lands.
These attacks were concentrated in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorates, with 244 fires, followed by Nablus with 214, Hebron with 51, and Tulkarm with 46.
Shaaban said that the most dangerous form of settler attacks is the coercive, exclusionary environment they are now imposing, leading to the displacement of dozens of Bedouin communities. He added that this plan is a state scheme, the implementation of which has been entrusted to the settler colonists, who have threatened citizens with weapons and deprived them of grazing land and water.
The occupation's measures and the terror of its settler militias have led to the displacement of 33 Palestinian Bedouin communities, comprising 455 families and 2853 individuals, from their homes to other locations. The most recent displacement was the displacement of Deir Alla, Ein Ayoub, Al-Malihat, Maghayer Al-Deir, and other communities, with the settlers taking control of the site.
The number of permanent and temporary checkpoints (gates, military barriers, or earth mounds) dividing the Palestinian territories and imposing restrictions on the movement of people and goods has reached a total of 916 military checkpoints and gates to date, including more than 243 iron gates installed after October 7, 2023.
The occupation authorities carried out a total of 1014 demolitions, marking a significant and dangerous escalation in attacks on Palestinian buildings. The demolition campaign targeted 3679 structures, including 1288 inhabited homes, 244 uninhabited homes, and 962 agricultural and other facilities.
Demolitions were concentrated in the Jerusalem governorate, with 880 facilities demolished, followed by Hebron, with 529 facilities demolished, and Tulkarm governorate, with 464 facilities demolished.
The occupation authorities delivered 1667 demolition notices to Palestinian facilities, concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Bethlehem, Jericho, Jerusalem, Nablus, and Qalqilya.
Among the notices were 22 administrative notices delivered to the residents of the village of Al-Maliha in the eastern Bethlehem wilderness, which is classified as Area B. This sets a dangerous precedent for Palestinian construction in the nature reserve, which is subject to the planning jurisdiction of the State of Palestine.
In a press conference, the head of the commission, Minister Mu'ayyad Shaaban, said that in the last two years, the Palestinian territories have transformed into a laboratory for unprecedented colonial policies, where the last occupation on earth is testing the arts of killing, subjugation, and human and geographical subjugation. Racist laws are enacted to protect the colonizers, providing them with legal cover and weapons, while simultaneously evading accountability and continuing to practice terrorism and violence. At the same time, Palestinians are being stripped of their most basic rights to housing, movement, construction, and a dignified life.
Shaaban emphasized that October 7th has become a black mark on the forehead of the occupation, its supporters, its backers, and those who provide it with cover in the world. This is in contrast to a great mass of honorable people from our people and around the world who have decided to continue their campaign to expose the last colonial project on earth, through legal and human rights follow-up, systematic documentation of all violations, and standing by our people to support their steadfastness and ensure their survival.
He emphasized that confronting this vicious colonial onslaught is not the responsibility of any particular party, but rather a comprehensive national duty, with the participation of official and civil institutions, national factions, and youth and popular sectors. Everyone is called upon today to fully assume their role in protecting their land, identity, and historical rights.
He continued that the unity of the popular position and will is the first line of defense against policies of uprooting and displacement, and is what will thwart the occupation's plans and colonial projects.
