Jeddah (UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomes the decision of the Republic of San Marino to recognize the State of Palestine, stressing that the succession of international recognitions reflects the growing international consensus in support of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The organization renews its call to states that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to recognize and support its full membership in the United Nations, with the aim of ending the occupation in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions, implementing the two-state solution, and achieving justice, peace, and stability.
