Swedish Foreign Minister: The situation in Gaza is extremely dangerous, and we cannot remain spectators.

Brussels (UNA/WAFA) – Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergaard described the situation in the Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to genocide by Israel, as “extremely dangerous,” calling for action and “not remaining a spectator.”
This came in press statements by Minister Stenergård on Monday, ahead of a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Brussels, who are meeting to review the suspension of the partnership agreement with Israel.
Stenergård added that Sweden is the second-largest provider of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, expressing her country's deep disappointment at being unable to deliver this aid due to the Israeli blockade. She stressed that the "extremely serious situation" in Gaza must not be forgotten, warning, "People are suffering, and we cannot remain mere spectators."
The European Union-Israel Association Agreement, which entered into force in 2000, provides the legal framework for political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two parties. Article XNUMX of the Agreement stipulates that the partnership is conditional upon “commitment to human rights and international law.”
