Jenin (UNA/WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the 59th consecutive day, and have escalated the forced displacement of citizens, after forcing them to leave their homes at gunpoint.
Yesterday, the occupation forces notified the demolition of approximately 66 homes in the neighborhoods of Al-Hawashin, Al-Aloub, Azzam Mosque, Jouret Al-Dhahab, and Al-Samran, under the pretext of widening streets and paving new roads in the camp to allow the entry of their military vehicles.
Last night, occupation forces burned a number of homes in the vicinity of the Saadi Diwan inside the camp, and continue to block off the street leading to Jenin Government Hospital from the entrance to Jenin camp with earth mounds.
Since the start of the aggression, these forces have arrested approximately 227 citizens from the Jenin governorate, while conducting field investigations of dozens of citizens.
According to the Jenin Municipality, the occupation forces have bulldozed 100% of the streets in Jenin refugee camp and nearly 80% of the streets in Jenin city. The residents of 3200 homes in the camp have been displaced, while Jenin's economy has suffered a significant decline and poverty rates have increased among its residents.
The occupation's aggression has so far left 34 martyrs, dozens injured, and detainees.
