The Arab League Council calls for the implementation of all stages of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Cairo (UNA/QNA) - The Arab League Council called for the implementation of all phases of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, expressing its strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation for violating the ceasefire and resuming its bombing of Palestinian civilians, which has left more than 400 martyrs and hundreds of wounded, including children and women.

This came in a resolution issued by the extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates, held today at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat in Cairo, at the request of the State of Palestine, regarding the Israeli occupation's violation of the ceasefire and its continued commission of crimes of aggression against the Palestinian people.

The Council called on the international community to implement all legal requirements related to the implementation of resolutions relevant to the protection of Palestinian civilians, especially Security Council Resolutions No. 904 of 1994 and No. 605 of 1987, and the United Nations General Assembly resolution on the protection of Palestinian civilians.

The Council warned that the Israeli occupation's persistent violations of the ceasefire and its continued perpetration of crimes of aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, over the course of 17 consecutive months and during the holy month of Ramadan, constitute a flagrant violation of human rights and divine laws and an insult to the feelings of the peoples of the world.

The Council urged the United States of America, as one of the guarantor states of the ceasefire agreement, to pressure the Israeli occupation to cease violating the ceasefire, implement all its phases, immediately return to implementing the second and third phases, withdraw from all areas of the Gaza Strip, and lift the siege.

The Council strongly condemned the Israeli aggression and ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank, including the destruction of Palestinian refugee camps and the forced displacement of their residents from their homes, illegal colonial settlement and settler terrorism, apartheid, home demolitions, land confiscation, destruction of infrastructure, military incursions into Palestinian cities, villages and camps, and the violation of the sanctity of holy sites.

The Council called for the implementation of the decisions of the Arab and Islamic Summit to break the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, and to impose the entry of Arab, Islamic and international humanitarian relief aid convoys, as well as the entry of international organizations into the Strip, and to protect their crews and enable them to fully carry out their roles. The Council also called on all countries of the world to fulfill all their legal obligations, to ensure respect for international law and non-compliance with its violations, and to prohibit economic and military dealings with the illegal Israeli occupation force.
