The occupation continues its aggression for the 22nd day on Jenin and its camp: extensive destruction of infrastructure and property

Jenin (UNA/WAFA) – The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the twenty-second consecutive day, leaving 25 martyrs and dozens of injuries, as well as massive destruction of infrastructure and property.

This morning, occupation forces stormed the eastern neighborhood of Jenin, accompanied by military bulldozers, which began destroying the infrastructure, streets, citizens’ vehicles and property. The occupation soldiers deployed snipers in tall buildings and on the roofs of houses.

Jenin Assistant Governor Mansour Al-Saadi said that the occupation caused massive destruction in Jenin camp and forced the displacement of more than 20 citizens.

In turn, the director of the Chamber of Commerce, Muhammad Kamil, told WAFA that the city’s market is completely closed, noting that the city has witnessed closures that exceeded 25 days since the beginning of this year, and that the occupation forces deliberately destroyed the city’s infrastructure and economy.

He added that the repeated incursions of the occupation into the city of Jenin led to a decline in purchasing activity and difficulty in the movement and distribution of goods, and the arrival of shop owners to their shops, which led to the impact of all economic sectors within the city and its countryside, which amounted to nearly 1400 shops.

According to Jenin Mayor Muhammad Jarar, the city has suffered economic losses exceeding $2 billion in infrastructure, buildings and shops over the past three years, after being subjected to 104 continuous raids..

He pointed out that this aggression and evacuation is “the worst ever,” and coincides with difficult economic conditions, and that what is happening in Jenin is a catastrophe on all levels, humanitarian in the form of the displacement of 15 citizens in a small city like Jenin, accompanied by very difficult economic conditions.

For the 22nd consecutive day, the occupation continues to demolish and burn citizens' homes in the camp, amidst intensive drone flights. The occupation also destroyed the street leading to the purification station in Jenin and parts of it, while it continues to send military reinforcements accompanied by bulldozers to the city of Jenin and the surroundings of the camp.

The occupation forces continue to besiege Jenin Governmental Hospital after bulldozing its entrance and the main street leading to it.

For the twenty-first consecutive day, the hospital departments are suffering from a severe shortage of potable water, while the necessary hospital departments are operating at their minimum capacity due to the occupation’s aggression.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation forces burned an agricultural barn during their raid on the village of Al-Jadeeda, east of Jenin.
