The Israeli occupation arrests 40 citizens from the West Bank

Ramallah (UNA/WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces launched a wide-scale arrest campaign since yesterday evening until Thursday morning, targeting at least 40 citizens from the West Bank, including former prisoners.

The Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and the Prisoners' Club explained that the arrests were concentrated in the Hebron Governorate, while the rest were distributed among the governorates of Salfit, Ramallah, Qalqilya, and Jerusalem.

While the occupation forces continue to fire direct bullets with the aim of killing during arrest campaigns, in addition to carrying out field investigations of dozens of citizens in several camps and towns, in addition to vandalizing and destroying citizens’ homes.

It is noteworthy that the number of arrests since the beginning of the ongoing war of extermination and comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people has reached more than 12 citizens from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, while we as institutions have not been able to count the cases of arrest from Gaza, which are estimated in the thousands, as a result of the occupation’s implementation of the crime of enforced disappearance against them.

It is worth mentioning that these arrest campaigns constitute the most prominent fixed and systematic policies used by the occupation forces, and they are also among the most prominent tools of the policy of (collective punishment), which also constitutes a central tool for the occupation in targeting citizens, in light of the comprehensive aggression against our people, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
