Muslim World League welcomes the statement issued by the joint Madrid meeting on the implementation of the two-state solution

Makkah (UNA) – The Muslim World League welcomed the statement issued by the meeting of representatives of the Joint Ministerial Contact Group of the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, consisting of: (the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Palestine, the State of Qatar, and the Republic of Turkey, in addition to the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Foreign Ministers and representatives of Ireland, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain), which was held in the Spanish capital, “Madrid.”

In a statement by the General Secretariat of the League, its Secretary-General, Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, valued the tireless efforts made by the group to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and ensure that they obtain their legitimate rights and independent state, noting what the statement included regarding the necessity of enabling the Palestinian government to carry out all its responsibilities throughout the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and calling on the international community to take active steps to implement the two-state solution, including comprehensive recognition of the State of Palestine and its acceptance as a full member of the United Nations.

He stressed the urgent need to implement the statement’s call for immediate, unconditional and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian assistance on a large scale by opening all crossings, supporting the work of UNRWA and other UN agencies, and urging all parties to comply with obligations under international humanitarian law, implement the orders of the International Court of Justice, and immediately halt the dangerous escalation in the West Bank, military attacks against Palestinians, and all illegal measures that undermine the prospects for peace, including settlement activities, land confiscation, and displacement of Palestinians.

The statement concluded with great appreciation for the exceptional efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, “Chair of the Islamic and Arab Summit”, which had this important group as one of its prominent practical outcomes with its effective and influential diplomatic movement, and what its continuous meetings around the world have achieved in terms of historic progress in mobilizing international partners to support the Palestinian cause, asking God Almighty to reward the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his faithful Crown Prince, Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect them.
