Madrid (UNA/WAFA) – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit stressed that depriving the Palestinian people of their natural right to independence and the establishment of a sovereign state was and still is a fundamental cause of instability in the region, expressing appreciation to all countries that have recognized Palestine, led by Spain, which is hosting today an Arab-European ministerial meeting under the title “Implementing the Two-State Solution.”".
Aboul Gheit's statements came during the launch and signing ceremony of his book "My Testimony" and its translation into Spanish, at the Arab House of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, which focuses on the Palestinian cause, which was the most important companion of his diplomatic journey.
Aboul Gheit stressed that the expansion of recognition of the Palestinian state represents an important step towards its embodiment, calling on countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to take this politically correct and morally sound decision, which reflects standing on the right side of history..
