Baghdad (UNI/INA) - The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, today, Friday, Iraq’s readiness to support any effort that is in the interest of enhancing security and peace in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the News Agency (INA): “The Ministry welcomes the joint statement issued by the leaders of the United States, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the State of Qatar, which calls for concluding a ceasefire agreement, releasing hostages and detainees, and providing immediate relief to the people of Gaza.” Noting that “this statement reflects a serious commitment by the three leaders to resolve the existing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and is an important step towards achieving stability in the region.”
The Ministry affirmed its “support for this international effort,” calling on all “concerned parties to deal positively with this initiative.”
The Ministry requested “the resumption of urgent discussions,” stressing Iraq’s readiness to support any effort that is in the interest of enhancing security and peace in the region.
The statement continued, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes that these efforts will yield tangible results that contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and ending the current crisis as quickly as possible.”
