A UN committee: Israel killed and disabled tens of thousands of children in the Gaza Strip

Geneva (UNI/WAFA) - The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry into crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories announced that Israel killed and maimed tens of thousands of children in the Gaza Strip.

This was stated by the head of the committee, Navi Pillay, today, Wednesday, in a meeting on the committee’s report on the sidelines of the 56th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Pillay added: It is also possible that thousands of children are under the rubble as a result of the raids carried out by the Israeli army on Gaza.

She noted that the Israeli war has seriously affected the infrastructure necessary for children's well-being, including hospitals, schools and basic services.

Since October 7, the occupation has launched a devastating aggression against Gaza, leaving more than 122 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens, most of them children.
