Wide international condemnation of the Israeli aggression against Jenin, amid calls to protect the Palestinian people

Jeddah (UNA-QNA) - Arab, Islamic and international countries and organizations denounced the ongoing Israeli aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied West Bank today, which has so far led to the death of 8 Palestinians and the injury of 50 others, and caused damage to property and infrastructure.

These countries and organizations warned, in statements, of the serious dangers of the ongoing Israeli escalation against the Palestinians, stressing the need for the international community to move urgently to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, and to compel the Israeli entity to stop its flagrant violations of international law and force it to respect the resolutions of international legitimacy.

In this context, the State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the repeated aggression of the Israeli occupation against the city of Jenin and its camp, which led to the fall of martyrs and wounded, and considered it a new episode in the series of continuous attacks by the occupation and its horrific crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the fading chances of peace and the widening of the cycle of violence due to the continuous Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories. It also stressed the need for the international community to act urgently to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, and to compel Israel to stop its blatant violations of international law and force it to respect its decisions. International legitimacy.

The Ministry renewed Qatar's firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The UAE also strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation forces on the Palestinian city of Jenin and its camp through air strikes and gunfire, which resulted in deaths and injuries.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to immediately stop the repeated and escalating campaigns against the Palestinian people, and urged the Israeli authorities not to take steps that exacerbate tension in the occupied Palestinian territories and lead to a deterioration of conditions and an expansion of the cycle of violence, and to abide by the provisions of international law and Security Council resolutions.

The Ministry also stressed the need to re-concert international efforts for a cease-fire to revive the peace process in the Middle East, and affirmed the UAE's support for all regional and international efforts made in this context, as well as putting an end to illegal practices that threaten reaching a two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on borders. Jordan strongly condemned the aggression against the city of Jenin, stressing the need to stop the continuous incursions into Palestinian cities and protect them from repeated attacks.

In a statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry affirmed Jordan's position rejecting these attacks and all unilateral measures that undermine efforts to achieve calm, calling for the need for the international community to act immediately and effectively to stop the aggression and provide protection for the Palestinian people in all the occupied Palestinian territories.

For its part, the Sultanate of Oman expressed its denunciation of the repeated Israeli attacks on the city of Jenin and the Palestinian camps in the West Bank, affirming its firm position and support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders according to the two-state solution, the relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Sultanate of Oman stressed the importance of the international community assuming its responsibilities in this regard in accordance with international law, and in order to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

For its part, Iran condemned the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian city of Jenin and its camp, and considered it "a clear example of state terrorism."

In the same context, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation considered that these heinous crimes constitute an extension of the record of crimes and organized state terrorism practiced by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, holding the Israeli entity directly responsible for the repercussions of these crimes that require investigation and accountability.

At the same time, the organization called on the UN Security Council to assume responsibility and enforce its relevant resolutions, put an end to this continuous Israeli terrorism, and provide protection for the Palestinian people.

For its part, the Arab League also held the occupying state fully responsible for this aggression, as a war crime and a violation of covenants, laws and international legitimacy resolutions. It condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli attacks on the city of Jenin.

It called on the international community, especially the Security Council and Member States, to assume their responsibilities in the immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression, and to provide protection for the Palestinian people.

In turn, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the continuation of the flagrant and continuous Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, the latest of which was the attack on the Jenin camp in the West Bank, stressing that today's attack represents a flagrant violation of international covenants and laws and impedes the efforts of the peace process to resolve the Palestinian issue.

The Council demanded the need for immediate and urgent international action to stop these brutal attacks and repressive practices, which led to the fall of a number of martyrs and injuries among the Palestinian people.

In the context of international reactions to the continued Israeli aggression on Jenin, Lynn Hastings, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian Territories, expressed her "extreme concern about the size of the Israeli military operation in Jenin."

She pointed out that the occupation army bombed the densely populated Jenin camp, and demanded that ambulance crews arrive to rescue the injured.

Jenin and its camp woke up, at dawn today, to intense bombardment by the occupation army, during which 8 martyrs were killed so far, bringing the number of martyrs in the governorate in the past three years to more than 131 martyrs, half of whom are from Jenin camp.

The Israeli aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp is considered the largest since 2002, when the occupation forces committed the largest massacres since the setback and occupation of 1967, when more than 52 Palestinians were killed, and 10 percent of the camp was completely destroyed, and more than 100 buildings were flattened. .
