Occupied Jerusalem (UNA) - The UAE Humanitarian and Charity Organization (HCO) today, Sunday, provided educational computers to four schools affiliated with the Palestinian Directorates of Education and Higher Education in Ramallah, Jenin and Qabatiya, as part of a project to provide educational computers to remote schools in Palestine. The devices were handed over at the organization’s headquarters in Jenin, in the presence of the Commissioner-General of the HCO in Palestine, Ibrahim Rashid, the Director of Education and Higher Education in Jenin, Tariq Alawneh, the representative of the General Education Department in the directorate, Jihad Mitani, and the directors and representatives of the schools of Ein Qiniya, north of Ramallah, Hittin Secondary School for Boys, Bir al-Basha Secondary School for Boys, and Qabatiya Elementary School for Boys, in Jenin Governorate. Alawneh praised the role played by the UAE Humanitarian and Charity Organization in supporting and developing the education sector in Palestine, within the general policy pursued by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which aims to bring about a qualitative shift in this sector, which has achieved significant leaps in recent years. For his part, Rashid said: What the Authority provided for schools came within the framework of a project to provide educational computers for remote schools, which the Authority is implementing in the West Bank governorates, including East Jerusalem, as part of its efforts to support and assist creative school students, orphans, the poor and the needy. Rashid pointed out that the project came within the framework of the UAE’s keenness to embody the principle of education for all, and consider it a right guaranteed to all people, according to all laws, regulations and customs.
