New York (UNA/WAFA) – UN Secretary-General António Guterres stressed the need to immediately open all crossings into the Gaza Strip that have been closed by the Israeli occupation to ensure the urgent, safe, and unhindered passage of humanitarian aid on a large scale throughout the Strip..
In a statement last night, Guterres urged all parties involved to work towards diplomatic solutions that promote regional and international peace and security.
He said that there is no military solution to the conflicts in the Middle East, and that dialogue and negotiations are the only way forward, calling on all parties involved in the Middle East to fully commit to and comply with the ceasefire understandings in Lebanon, Iran and Gaza, and to avoid any steps that would undermine the ongoing diplomatic efforts..
He stressed the need to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from any actions that could further inflame the already volatile situation..
