Amman (UNA) - The Palestinian National Council said: There will be no peace, security or stability in the region except by ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of June 1967, 194, and the return of refugees to their homes in accordance with Resolution 1967. The Council added, in a statement issued from its headquarters in Amman today on the occasion of the anniversary of Israel's occupation of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula and the Syrian Golan: Since Israel occupied the Palestinian territories in 1967, it has been working hard by all means and methods to control them and change their features with the aim of Judaizing them and ending the Palestinian presence there, and that all of this represents the height of terrorism and aggression that the international community must confront. The Council stressed that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are one indivisible geographical unit for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on all the territories occupied in XNUMX with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Council said: After more than fifty years of occupation, the city of Jerusalem has entered a dangerous phase, especially after the US recognition of it as the capital of the occupying state and the transfer of its embassy to it, which is an invalid procedure because Jerusalem is an occupied territory according to international law. The Council renewed its demand to provide international protection for the Palestinian people from Israeli arrogance and military terrorism, and the planned killings, especially what is currently happening in the Gaza Strip, and the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to demolish and deport the Khan al-Ahmar community as a form of collective punishment, in addition to building and expanding settlements, Judaizing the city of Jerusalem, violating the rights of the Palestinian people, individuals and groups, imposing a siege, and closing the crossings.
