The UAE Minister of State participates in the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Jeddah (UNA/WAM) - Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, headed the UAE delegation participating in the extraordinary open-ended meeting of the Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held at the headquarters of the Organization’s General Secretariat in Jeddah, at the request of Palestine and Iran.

The meeting discussed developments in the situation in the region and the escalating tension at the present time.

In his speech, he expressed the UAE's deep concern about the continued escalation and its repercussions on security and stability in the region, stressing that the UAE believes that strengthening dialogue, commitment to international laws, and respect for the sovereignty of states are the ideal foundations for resolving the current crises.

He also pointed to the UAE's firm position in rejecting violence and political assassination in all its forms and manifestations, stressing that escalation, action and knee-jerk reactions, without the slightest regard for the laws governing the relations and sovereignty of states, complicate the situation and increase the risks of instability, stressing the necessity of resolving disputes through Diplomatic means away from the language of confrontation and escalation.
