Islamabad (UNA) – The Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) to provide scholarships to Palestinian students for the academic year 2025-2026.
The MoU was signed on behalf of COMSTECH by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhury, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, and on behalf of Abbottabad University by Prof. Dr. Mujaddidur Rahman, Vice Chancellor.
Under this partnership, Abbottabad University is committed to providing higher education opportunities to Palestinian students through online and face-to-face learning, ensuring flexibility and promoting academic excellence among Palestinian youth. The university will also offer 40 scholarships in various undergraduate programs, including physiotherapy, pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, microbiology, food science, computer science, and software engineering. Additionally, a separate online free-learning program is available for computer science and software engineering students, providing up to 2000 opportunities to enhance students' basic digital skills.
It's worth noting that the MoU falls under COMSTECH's scholarship and research fellowship program for Palestinian students, reflecting the commitment of higher education institutions in Pakistan to supporting the academic careers of Palestinian youth.
