Kuwait and Saudi Arabia sign an agreement to arrange the affairs of Kuwaiti pilgrims for Hajj 1446 AH

Jeddah (UNA/KUNA) - Kuwaiti Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah signed an agreement in Jeddah on Sunday to arrange the affairs of Kuwaiti pilgrims for the Hajj season of 1446 AH, a day before the launch of the fourth edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition.

Minister Al-Wasmi said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after the signing that the agreement included concluding contracts for transportation, catering and housing services, stressing commitment to all general instructions regulating Hajj affairs in the Kingdom.

He pointed out the commitment to educate those wishing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage about the instructions and procedures that must be implemented, praising the efforts made by the Kingdom in serving the pilgrims of the House of God and the guests of the Most Merciful and the great development witnessed by the Hajj system.

The agreement stipulates that the Hajj Affairs Office and all organizers must be committed to educating citizens that Hajj is not permissible without a permit and that violating pilgrims must not be allowed to enter the holy sites, be housed, or be transported in the Hajj Affairs Office’s private vehicles.

The activities of the fourth Hajj Conference and Exhibition will be launched in Jeddah tomorrow, Monday, under the slogan (The Road to the Rituals), under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in cooperation with the Guests of God Service Program.

The conference, which will continue until January 16, is a strategic and comprehensive platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge and enhancing competitiveness and transparency among service providers in this vital sector.

The Kuwaiti delegation that witnessed the signing ceremony of the agreement included, in addition to Minister Al-Wasmi, the Director of the Minister’s Office, Dr. Talal Al-Mudaij, the Director of the Hajj and Umrah Department, Sattam Al-Muzain, the Supervisor of the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Committee, Muhammad Al-Saeedi, and a legal specialist from the office of the Minister of Endowments, Khalid Al-Omara.

The delegation also included the Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Saudi Arabia, Yousef Al-Taneeb, and the Diplomatic Attaché, Saleh Al-Saeed.
