Gaza (INA) – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Hassan al-Saifi, announced that the first flight of pilgrims from the Gaza Strip will leave for Saudi Arabia on September 19 or 20. He said in a press conference today, Wednesday, that the pilgrims will be transferred from Cairo International Airport to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and the return will be from Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah to Cairo International Airport. Al-Saifi explained that the ministry has completed all preparations and arrangements for this year's Hajj season, by setting general plans and strategies to ensure the success of the season, in full coordination with Minister Sheikh Yusuf Idais. It is noteworthy that the basic share of the Gaza Strip is 2510 pilgrims, however, due to the reduction in the number of pilgrims by 20 percent by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, due to the expansion works in the Great Mosque of Mecca, the share of Gaza for this year is 2008 pilgrims, and Al-Saifi added: Palestine received a royal bounty From the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to 1000 people from the families of the Palestinian martyrs, the share of the Gaza Strip is 500, thus raising the number of Gazan pilgrims who will leave to perform the ritual this year to 2508 pilgrims, including the pilgrims of Al-Mukarramah.
