Jeddah (UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the continued horrific massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against innocent civilians and displaced persons in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was the bombing of various areas in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of 31 martyrs and the injury of dozens of civilians, in a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, and an attempt to undermine international efforts aimed at consolidating the truce and implementing the second phase of the agreement.
The organization also held Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for the repercussions of this heinous crime, and called on the international community, and in particular the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities towards compelling Israel to fully respect its obligations and implement the requirements of the second phase under Security Council Resolution 2803.
The organization also stressed the need to open all crossings and provide humanitarian aid without hindrance, for the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, to begin the early recovery and reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip, and to relaunch a political process that leads to ending the Israeli occupation and implementing the two-state solution.
