The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns new Israeli settlement plans in the West Bank.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the approval by the Israeli occupation authorities of the construction of 764 new settlement units and their announcement of a plan to establish 17 new settlements in the occupied West Bank during the next five years, as part of annexation and expansion plans and attempts to impose its alleged sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory.

She stressed that Israel’s colonial settlement policy constitutes a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, foremost among them Security Council Resolution 2334, in addition to the legal opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, renewing her call to the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and take immediate measures to put an end to all crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, their land and holy sites.
