The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns the arson attack on a mosque in Salfit Governorate and warns against the escalating crimes of extremist settlers.

Jeddah (UNA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist crime of burning a mosque in the Salfit Governorate by extremist settler groups.

She stressed that this criminal act constitutes a blatant provocation of the feelings of Muslims around the world, and an attack on the sanctity of places of worship, in flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

The organization warned of the dangerous and systematic escalation of attacks and crimes committed by extremist settlers with the protection and support of the Israeli occupation forces throughout the West Bank, which are a result of policies of incitement, extremism, racism and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people.

The organization called on the international community to take action to ensure that all perpetrators of these crimes are held accountable, to end the impunity enjoyed by the Israeli occupation, and to criminalize contempt for religions and the violation of the sanctity of holy sites.
