Jeddah (UNA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemns the approval by the Israeli occupation authorities of the construction of 356 new settlement units in occupied Jerusalem, and affirms that this constitutes a war crime under international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, particularly Security Council Resolution 2334, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.
The General Secretariat of the Organization also warns of the danger of the continued and escalating violence and terrorism of extremist settler militias in the occupied West Bank, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, and calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take immediate and decisive measures to put an end to the phenomenon of impunity, and to hold the criminals accountable for the crimes they commit against the Palestinian people, their land and property.
