Jeddah (UNA) – The Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ambassador Samir Bakr, received on Monday (September 29, 2025), at the General Secretariat headquarters, the Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the OIC, Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, who presented an official invitation from His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to His Excellency the Secretary General of the OIC, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, to attend the official opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum on November 1, 2025.
The Assistant Secretary-General expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt for this generous invitation. He affirmed the support of the Secretary-General of the Organization, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, for these significant efforts in opening one of the largest international museums, which tells the history of ancient Egyptian civilization and represents a unique cultural monument of its kind. He also expressed his support for all initiatives that contribute to strengthening the cultural and civilizational identity of member states and highlighting their contributions to enriching human civilization.
