Organization of Islamic Cooperation

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation visits the Chechen Republic.

Grozny (UNA) – On Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Grozny, President Ramzan Kadyrov, of the Chechen Republic, received the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, who is on an official visit to the Chechen Republic at the head of a delegation from the General Secretariat, at the invitation of President Ramzan Kadyrov.

During the meeting, both sides praised the level of relations between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Chechen Republic and emphasized the importance of strengthening them and expanding areas of cooperation, particularly through the OIC's bodies and institutions.

The two sides also commended the distinguished relations between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Russian Federation, which has observer status with the organization.

The two sides reviewed a number of issues of concern to the Islamic world, most notably the Palestinian cause and the fight against Islamophobia, extremism, and terrorism. They emphasized the importance of strengthening Islamic solidarity to confront current challenges and encouraging dialogue to foster understanding and harmony in the world.
