The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the decision of the President of Ecuador to reopen an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office with diplomatic status in occupied Jerusalem, considering this illegal move a violation of United Nations resolutions on Jerusalem, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 478, which calls on states that have established diplomatic missions in Jerusalem to withdraw these missions from the Holy City.
The organization called on the Ecuadorian government to reverse this decision, respect its legal and political obligations under international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and refrain from taking any steps that would undermine the historical, legal, and political status of occupied Jerusalem.
