The 26th session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy continues its work on its second day, discussing jurisprudential developments and contemporary issues.

Doha (UNA) – The 7th session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) Council Conference discussed, on its second day, Monday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1446, 5 AH, corresponding to May 2025, XNUMX AD, in five scientific sessions, contemporary topics and developments in childcare, technology, economics, and Islamic jurisprudence.

During the first scientific session, members and experts discussed emerging issues in childcare and protecting children from harassment, bullying, and neglect. They also discussed the importance of strengthening parental education, shared responsibility in raising children, preserving their rights, digital safety, and addressing drug addiction, video game addiction, and other important topics in childcare.

In the second session, the issue of Istiṣḥāb was discussed as a legal evidence that can be employed to uncover appropriate legal rulings for new and emerging issues for which there are no clear, direct texts. Scholars and experts also discussed how to employ Istiṣḥāb in contemporary issues and developments to ensure the stability of rulings.

In the third session, the Academy Council addressed the topic of artificial intelligence: its rulings, controls, and ethics. The distinguished researchers discussed many of the benefits and harms resulting from the use of artificial intelligence, and mentioned numerous recommendations and controls that will be taken into consideration in the Academy Council's decisions.

The fourth session also addressed new developments in the Islamic finance industry, including the Sharia ruling on paying the increase in a loan from a third party, and the ruling on charging fees for letters of guarantee and documentary credit.

The Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy will issue its decisions and recommendations on these contemporary issues at its final session, which will be held, God willing, at the conclusion of the session, on Thursday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 10, 1446 AH, corresponding to May 8, 2025 AD.
