The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation participates in the preparatory meeting for the 26th session of the Bureau of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.

Jeddah (UNA) – Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), participated this evening, Sunday, May 04, 2025, in the preparatory meeting for the 26th session of the Bureau of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, in Doha, Qatar.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Hamid, President of the Academy, and Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, in addition to members of the Bureau.

During the opening remarks, the Secretary-General of the Organization welcomed the members of the Bureau and thanked the Academy for its efforts in issuing fatwas and conducting research and studies aimed at finding jurisprudential solutions to contemporary issues in the economic, social, health, scientific, and technological fields. He emphasized the pivotal role of this organization, which is focused on serving the Islamic nation in accordance with the principles and teachings of our true religion.

He stated that the General Secretariat of the Organization attaches strategic importance to the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, which plays a key role in disseminating the values ​​of moderation and balance and preserving the intellectual and spiritual heritage of the Islamic nation.

In conclusion, the Secretary General thanked the President of the Academy, His Excellency Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Hamid, its Secretary General, Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, and all members of the Bureau for their efforts, wishing the Academy success in fulfilling its noble mission.

The agenda included a review of the Academy's activities and administrative and financial matters. It also discussed the ongoing preparations for the next session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Council, which will be hosted by the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
