Jeddah (UNA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expresses its condemnation and denunciation of the attacks on vital facilities and infrastructure in Port Sudan and Kassala, Sudan. These attacks constitute a violation of international law and international humanitarian law and a threat to the security and stability of the region.
The General Secretariat affirms its rejection of these violations, emphasizing the need to implement the obligations to protect civilians in Sudan stipulated in the Jeddah Declaration of May 11, 2023. It also calls for an end to the war and efforts to achieve a peaceful Sudanese-Sudanese settlement that preserves Sudan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as this is the only way to end the crisis, alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, and achieve their aspirations for security, peace, and stability.
