Jeddah (UNA) – Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), participated today, Sunday, May 4, 2025, in the opening session of the XNUMXth session of the Conference of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, in Doha, State of Qatar.
On this occasion, the Secretary-General delivered a speech welcoming the participants in the scholarly sessions, which come at a time of unique challenges and crises. He emphasized the role of distinguished scholars in collective ijtihad (independent reasoning) to issue fatwas and clarify Islam's position on various contemporary and emerging issues.
He commended the efforts of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy to enlighten the Islamic nation and disseminate the tolerant values of Islam in a world undergoing continuous transformation.
In conclusion, he extended his sincere thanks to the leadership of the State of Qatar, headed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for hosting this conference and supporting the efforts of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
